Pharmaceutical physics is the most traditional research area in the Laboratory of Industrial Physics. The research begun at the 80s and is done often with co-operation with Finnish drug companies and other academic research centers. The research is based on the use of the versatile equipment of the laboratory. The main techniques are thermoanalytics, gas adsorption and x-ray diffraction.
Some of current research projects:
- Use of mesoporous materials in the drug delivery
- The effect of crystallographic texture on the tablet properties
- Development of novel moisture control system for powder containers
- Use of electrostatic atomization in nanoparticle production
